2024-2025 Swing Choir - Showcase Group at TMEA in February
In addition to participating in all TMEA and UIL competitions throughout the year, the Choral Department at Barbers Hill HS presents three concerts (Fall, Christmas and Pre-UIL) yearly, as well as an end-of year Pop Show and Swing Choir dinner concert. The Fall Musical in partnership with the theatre program is a highlight each year! We have the privilege of claiming multiple TMEA All-State Choir members AND UIL State Solo & Ensemble performers annually, and are consistent UIL Sweepstakes award recipients. There are six choirs, including auditioned and non-auditioned groups. We proudly have several voice teachers who offer private vocal lessons during choir classes.
Our Intermediate and Middle School programs host various events throughout the year, including a Talent Show, Fine Arts Showcase and a Musical. Their competition season is similar to the high school level, and all groups have consistently earned sweepstakes awards at UIL.
During the holidays, you may catch our MS and HS Swing Choir students provide entertainment at various venues throughout the community.
