Art

Welcome to Our High School Visual Arts Program Our Visual Arts program encourages creativity, self-expression, and technical mastery across a wide range of media. Beginning in middle school, students build a strong foundation in studio habits, technical skills, and artistic experimentation.

At the high school level, Art I introduces students to drawing, painting, printmaking, sculpture, and digital art, while advanced courses such as Art II, Art III Honors, and Art IV provide deeper exploration, including ceramics. AP Art students work independently to develop a personal portfolio, which they submit for potential college credit.

In the 2024-2025 school year, our art students have achieved remarkable success in both the classroom and competitions at local, regional, and statewide levels. Notably, four students had artwork exhibited at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, with one competing in the Quick Draw Contest. Two students advanced to the state-level V.A.S.E. competition, while five Protege art competitors will have their work displayed in prestigious venues throughout Southeast Texas.

Additionally, three senior artists have collectively earned $249,000 in college scholarships, with more awards anticipated this spring.  We take great pride in our students' artistic achievements and look forward to another year of creativity, growth, and recognition!
