It was a weekend to remember for our High School Fine Arts Department, as both our visual and performing artists earned top honors at prestigious state-level competitions.
We are proud to share exciting news from the BH art department!
Sophomore Alyx Moore has been selected for a highly coveted spot at the prestigious Western Art Academy at Schreiner University in Kerrville, Texas. Additionally, senior Tori Ludwig has earned an alternate position, highlighting the outstanding talent found at BH.
This week, Barbers Hill’s band programs proudly competed at UIL events across the region. Our middle school bands traveled to Goose Creek Memorial High School, while our high school bands performed at Dobie High School.
In total, Barbers Hill Middle School North, Middle School South, and Barbers Hill High School had nine bands compete — and every single group earned superior ratings, culminating in Sweepstakes awards!
We are extremely proud of the outstanding performances by our students and extend our sincere appreciation to our directors for their unwavering dedication and commitment to excellence in music education.
We are excited to share some fantastic news about the talent of our students in the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo (HLS&R) Art Contest! This year, several students from Intermediate School South (ISS) have earned spots in the prestigious Hayloft Gallery at the HLS&R, showcasing their incredible artistic abilities.

Barbers Hill Intermediate School North is bursting with pride as we celebrate the extraordinary achievements of our talented 6th-grade choir students! This year, we have set a new record with an exceptional number of students selected for the Texas Choral Directors Association (TCDA) honor choirs.
Two talented Barbers Hill student artists have earned top honors at the Visual Arts Scholastic Event (VASE) Area Competition and will advance to the state level. Falleyn Pitkin and Tori Ludwig impressed judges with their outstanding artwork, securing their place among the best young artists in Texas.

Our BHHS Eaglettes brought home an impressive collection of awards from the Clear Springs Crowd Pleasers Showcase on February 22, 2025! Competing against top teams, they showcased incredible talent, precision, and dedication, earning high honors across multiple categories.
The Soaring Eagle Varsity Guard made BHHS history on February 15 with a groundbreaking performance at their first-ever Winter Guard International (WGI) competition! This year’s team is the first in school history to compete at a WGI event—and one of the few to advance to Finals in their debut appearance!
The BHHS JV Color Guard delivered an impressive performance at the TCGC Competition at Morton Ranch High School, bringing home multiple accolades. The team earned 2nd place, the prestigious Choreography Award, and the title of Overall Best Color Guard, showcasing their skill and dedication.
The Choir had a strong showing at the Region 19 UIL Solo & Ensemble Contests, with 100 talented students competing across various categories. Of these, 34 soloists and 36 ensemble members earned the opportunity to advance to the State competition in May!
The Eaglettes delivered outstanding performances at the Ascension Dance Contest at Cypress Creek High School, bringing home multiple awards for their talent and dedication.

Barbers Hill is proud to announce that Anabella DeGregorio, an exceptional student and dancer, was selected as an All-State Dancer and had the honor of performing at the Texas Dance Educators Association (TDEA) Convention.
For the first time ever, a Barbers Hill High School Choir has been selected to perform at the Texas Music Educators Convention in San Antonio.
Barbers Hill High School is celebrating a remarkable achievement in its fine arts program, with five students selected as Texas All-State musicians, a prestigious honor that highlights their exceptional talent and dedication to music.
